The house was built in 1907 by Doctor Hurbert Tomlin for his bride Bessie Baker of the Baker family, who were the original founders of Wildwood. It was owned by the family until the 1970s. The Baker family lived on Atlantic Ave. just a block south of the Tomlin House. Their house still stands and is owned by the Wildwood Civic Assocation. Our house is across the street from Saint Ann’s Catholic Church, whereby the lovely sounds of the church bells can be heard throughout the area.
